Volunteer Vacancies

Are you looking to add to your CV, have some structure in your week, or give something back to your community? 

We appreciate every single volunteer and the time they give us. Without volunteers, we couldn't operate to the extent we do. In return, you will get a free meal for the days you are volunteering, invited to our volunteer celebration days and undertake free training. We can also provide references.

Community Fridge Drivers

West Howe Community Enterprises Community Fridge is an established and important community resource, run by our Fridge Coordinator, Kathy. The aim is to prevent food going to landfill, and this also means the West Howe community can access food for free. The fridge saves people around £20 - £30 a week and is run by dedicated volunteers.

 

We are looking to expand our team of drivers to help out with regular or casual shifts.

 

  • Collect food from the designated collection point/s at the following times:

    • Saturday morning between 8 – 11am from Lidl, Ringwood Road

    • Saturday afternoon between 12 – 3pm from Sainsbury’s, Boscombe

    • Sunday morning between 10am – 12pm from Lidl, Ringwood Road

    • Sunday afternoon between 12 – 3pm from Sainsbury’s, Boscombe​

  • Deliver food to The Henry Brown Centre

​​

  • Work as a team to maintain 5 star food hygiene rating

​​

  • This volunteer role involves moving and handling tasks

 

We are currently looking for individuals to put aside a set number of hours per month to help us to continue being able to give high quality food to the community. Various weekend collections available, for a minimum of one collection per month

Website Volunteer

Are you a wiz on Wix with a good eye for detail?

We’re looking for someone to help us for 4 - 6 hours, once a month, to keep the website updated.
 
Role Description:​

  • Update website with upcoming events and activities

  • Make any necessary changes to pages

  • Archive pages

  • Discuss website requirements with staff and help to implement these

  • Increase search engine visibility

  • Record website visitor metrics
