The Community Fridge
The Community Fridge's mission is simple: to reduce food waste by rescuing surplus food that would otherwise go to landfill.
This project is now entirely volunteer run! These dedicated community members work so hard behind the scenes to ensure the fridge is open every Monday and Thursday. From collecting surplus food, organising donations, to welcoming guests, their hard work makes it all possible. So please when visiting give them a huge thank you!
By reducing food waste and cutting down on harmful emissions, our volunteers and visitors are helping build a more sustainable future for everyone. ALL FREE TO VISITORS.

What happens when I visit?

Come along and join the outdoor queue, you'll be given a number which tells you your turn. Please queue from 11.30 onwards.
If you'd like to wait indoors, we kindly ask that you support our wonderful community space and purchase a drink, snack or meal while you wait. We are proud of our fair pricing. Drinks cost as little as £1, omlettes just £3 and even our Big Howe (our supersize cooked breakfast option) is just £6.25 - we think that's a bargain!
For anyone who wouldn't like to purchase anything, feel free to wait in the queue whilst soaking up our gorgeous community garden! If you are outside and require a seat due to mobility difficulties, please ask one of our friendly volunteers who will be happy to assist. In instances of adverse weather, where possible we will try to accommodate visitors indoors.
