We are delighted to ask a new person to join our team in West Howe. West Howe Community Enterprises has delivered outcomes for the people of West Howe for over a decade, and a new 5-year funding package means the charity can now look to grow in staff and grow in stature.
As a member of our team, you find working in West Howe both challenging and rewarding.

The role of the Community Development and Volunteer Manager is to

• Ensure the charities community engagement activities reflect the needs of, and help strengthen, the local community
• Coordinate, and where appropriate lead, focus groups and engagement events to develop projects and activities with local residents
• Develop the use of all media channels in engaging with the local community
• Maintaining effective monitoring and reporting to funders and directors
• Recruit, train and support volunteers to deliver across all functions of the organisation, whilst at the same time helping them gain experience and confidence, and where appropriate, new employment.
• Work closely with the Activities and Skills Coordinator to ensure the smooth management of the Henry Brown building.
• Manage the Café Worker and oversee the effective running of the community café
• Identify funding and partnership opportunities for West Howe Community Enterprises that will benefit the local community.
• Aim to make WHCE sustainable, and reduce our environmental impact

If this is your first experience of the voluntary sector or of West Howe we’ll show you why we are one of the most respected charities in the area. If you are looking to join us from another local charity, we’ll remind you why you wanted to work in the voluntary sector.
Come and join us!
